What is a computer user group?
- The Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group, Inc. is an organization of computer enthusiasts dedicated to educating members and guests about every aspect of personal computers. The Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 educational organization. All meetings are open to the public.
Where does the Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group meet?

What are the Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group meetings about?
- The Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group meetings consist of one general meeting (usually on the first Tuesday), normally with vendor presentations, three Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings that focus on New Users, Windows XP/Vista, and the Internet, and a half-hour Question & Answer session after each SIG meeting.
What are the benefits of joining the Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group?
- Club members enjoy presentations on the latest personal computer hardware and software, receive a monthly newsletter (Bay Bytes), containing reviews of programs and hardware, and other computer-related news. Members also are able to contact a group of club volunteers for answers to computing questions, and have access to a library of books, instructional video tapes, and CD-ROM training materials. Qualified members also have the opportunity to review programs and hardware from major companies, and then own the program when their review is published in the club's newsletter. At some meetings, great door prizes are won by lucky club members. In addition, some vendors and local merchants offer product discounts to club members. The club has several SIGs (Special Interest Groups) that meet each month to offer more personalized education about computer software programs and hardware.
How much does it cost to join the Greater Tampa Bay PC User Group?
- All club members pay dues to support various club activities. Club dues are $24 per year, payable each January, with new members prorated at $2.00 per month for each month remaining in the calendar year. In addition, all new members pay a one-time equipment maintenance fee of $20.
